Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In December 2016 Sothebys in New York held the auction Israeli & International Art, which included the work Italian Bread by Avigdor Arikha. The »bidding war« ended at USD 10,625.00 (€ 10,069.18), 18% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Avigdor Arikha achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nude On A Sheet in December 2017 with an auction result of USD 162,500.00 (€ 135,168.86).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Dezember 2016 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Israeli & International Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Italian Bread von Avigdor Arikha zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 10.625,00 (€ 10.069,18) und damit 18% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Avigdor Arikha erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Nude On A Sheet im Dezember 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 162.500,00 (€ 135.168,86).
