Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Smile by Austin Lee was auctioned at Phillips in an online auction in April 2021. The price achieved of GBP 5,040.00 (€ 5,797.47) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Austin Lee achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Drowning in November 2021 with an auction result of USD 75,600.00 (€ 66,979.71).
