Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Royal Mail Line, South America by Austin Cooper was auctioned at Christies in London in November 2010, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 600.00 – 800.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 437.50 (€ 522.81). Admittedly, works by Austin Cooper have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Paris For The Weekend in November 2015 with an auction result of GBP 2,000.00 (€ 2,848.70).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Royal Mail Line, South America von Austin Cooper im November 2010 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 600,00 – 800,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 437,50 (€ 522,81) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Austin Cooper auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Paris For The Weekend im November 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 2.000,00 (€ 2.848,70).
