In September 2006 Sothebys in Olympia held the auction 20th Century British and Irish Art, which included the work Surrealist Landscape by Augustus Lunn. The result of GBP 1,200.00 (€ 1,770.25) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 1,200.00 – 1,800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Augustus Lunn achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Gale Warning in November 2019 with an auction result of GBP 32,500.00 (€ 38,162.95).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im September 2006 führte Sothebys in Olympia die Auktion 20th Century British and Irish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Surrealist Landscape von Augustus Lunn zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 1.200,00 (€ 1.770,25) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.200,00 – 1.800,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Augustus Lunn erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Gale Warning im November 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 32.500,00 (€ 38.162,95).
