Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Carousel by Augustus Lunn was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2007. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,125.00 (€ 1,528.68) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Augustus Lunn achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Gale Warning in November 2019 with an auction result of GBP 32,500.00 (€ 38,162.95).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Carousel von Augustus Lunn kam im Dezember 2007 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.125,00 (€ 1.528,68) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Augustus Lunn erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Gale Warning im November 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 32.500,00 (€ 38.162,95).
