The »bidding war« ended at GBP 597.50 (€ 536.81), 49% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Augusto Daini have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Chiacchiere con il frate in December 2001 with an auction result of ITL 3,675,000.00 (€ 3,303.00).

Die Arbeit The Goatherder'S Courtship von Augusto Daini wurde im April 2004 in der Auktion British and Continental Pictures bei Christies in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 597,50 (€ 536,81) und damit 49% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Augusto Daini auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Chiacchiere con il frate im Dezember 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von ITL 3.675.000,00 (€ 3.303,00).
