Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2020 Christies in New York held the auction Outsider Art, which included the work Untitled, 1945 by Augustin Lesage. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 112,500.00 (€ 101,415.31) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Augustin Lesage have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in February last year the work Untitled, 1933 was auctioned for USD 156,250.00 (€ 139,210.62).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Januar 2020 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Outsider Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled, 1945 von Augustin Lesage zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 100.000,00 – 150.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 112.500,00 (€ 101.415,31) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Andere Arbeiten von Augustin Lesage konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im Februar letzten Jahres die Arbeit Untitled, 1933 für USD 156.250,00 (€ 139.210,62) versteigert.
