Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Free Women of Dominica with a child by Augustin Brunias was auctioned at Christies in London in September 2006, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 12,000.00 (€ 17,702.53). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Augustin Brunias achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Free Women Of Dominica Bathing In A Stream; Free Women Of Dominica; A Young Couple And Child Promenading, Dominica; Flower Girls Of Dominica; Free Women Of Dominica With Child; And A Native Family Of St. Vincent in June last year with an auction result of USD 214,200.00 (€ 204,604.07).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Free Women of Dominica with a child von Augustin Brunias im September 2006 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 12.000,00 (€ 17.702,53) den Besitzer. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Free Women Of Dominica Bathing In A Stream; Free Women Of Dominica; A Young Couple And Child Promenading, Dominica; Flower Girls Of Dominica; Free Women Of Dominica With Child; And A Native Family Of St. Vincent im Juni letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 214.200,00 (€ 204.604,07).
