The »bidding war« ended at GBP 16,250.00 (€ 19,175.94), 35% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Augustin Brunias achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Free Women Of Dominica Bathing In A Stream; Free Women Of Dominica; A Young Couple And Child Promenading, Dominica; Flower Girls Of Dominica; Free Women Of Dominica With Child; And A Native Family Of St. Vincent in June last year with an auction result of USD 214,200.00 (€ 204,604.07).
