Auction result misses estimated price range
In September 2006 a collector was able to acquire the work Free Women of Dominica bathing in a stream by Augustin Brunias for GBP 12,000.00 (€ 17,702.53). This price was achieved in the auction Exploration and Travel with the Polar Sale Including The Amundsen Collection at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Augustin Brunias achieve.
