This artwork by Auguste Toulmouche achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in December 2018. In the 19th Century European Paintings auction, the work French day Dreaming sold for GBP 23,750.00 (€ 26,459.61) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 12,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Auguste Toulmouche - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Vanity, which sold at auction in May 2001 for USD 88,125.00 (€ 104,228.27).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Auguste Toulmouche erzielte im Dezember 2018 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 19th Century European Paintings wurde die Arbeit French day Dreaming für GBP 23.750,00 (€ 26.459,61) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 12.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Auguste Toulmouche mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Vanity beobachtet, die im Mai 2001 für USD 88.125,00 (€ 104.228,27) versteigert wurde.
