A top price for Auguste Bonheur - as previously expected
In June 2010 Sothebys in London held the auction 19th Century European Paintings Including German, Austrian and Central European Paintings, The Orientalist Sale, Spanish Painting and the Scandinavian Sale, which included the work French le Combat, Souvenir Des Pyrenees by Auguste Bonheur. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 16,250.00 (€ 19,761.51) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Even if this result could not surprise positively, French le Combat, Souvenir Des Pyrenees is the most expensive artwork by Auguste Bonheur that we have observed at auctions so far.
