Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2011 Sothebys in New York held the auction Old Master and 19th Century European Art, which included the work Leader Of The Herd by Auguste Bonheur. The price achieved of USD 5,625.00 (€ 3,873.17) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Admittedly, works by Auguste Bonheur have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work French le Combat, Souvenir Des Pyrenees in June 2010 with an auction result of GBP 16,250.00 (€ 19,761.51).

Im Juni 2011 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Old Master and 19th Century European Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Leader Of The Herd von Auguste Bonheur zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 5.625,00 (€ 3.873,17) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Auguste Bonheur auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit French le Combat, Souvenir Des Pyrenees im Juni 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 16.250,00 (€ 19.761,51).
