Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2001 Christies in London held the auction British And Continental Watercolours And Drawings, which included the work Still life with nectarines, raspberries and plums on a mossy bank by Augusta Innes Withers. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 500.00 – 700.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 528.75 (€ 854.54) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Augusta Innes Withers achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Orchidaceae: Cattleya Mossiae in June 2005 with an auction result of GBP 7,200.00 (€ 10,670.85).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2001 führte Christies in London die Auktion British And Continental Watercolours And Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Still life with nectarines, raspberries and plums on a mossy bank von Augusta Innes Withers zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 500,00 – 700,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 528,75 (€ 854,54) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Augusta Innes Withers erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Orchidaceae: Cattleya Mossiae im Juni 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 7.200,00 (€ 10.670,85).
