Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by August Wilhelm Nikolaus Hagborg could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in October 2019 for an unexpectedly low price. In the European Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture auction, the work Waiting changed hands for USD 6,875.00 (€ 6,163.16) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by August Wilhelm Nikolaus Hagborg - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work 'Fiskebåten välsignas' (The ceremony of blessing of a fishing boat / Bénédiction d'une barque), which sold at auction in December 2021 for SEK 230,000.00 (€ 22,435.06).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von August Wilhelm Nikolaus Hagborg konnte im Oktober 2019 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion European Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture wechselte die Arbeit Waiting für USD 6.875,00 (€ 6.163,16) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von August Wilhelm Nikolaus Hagborg mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit 'Fiskebåten välsignas' (The ceremony of blessing of a fishing boat / Bénédiction d'une barque) beobachtet, die im Dezember 2021 für SEK 230.000,00 (€ 22.435,06) versteigert wurde.
