Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Woman Seated Beside A Window by August Mosca was auctioned at Christies in New York in February 2013, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 1,750.00 (€ 1,338.02). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by August Mosca achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Under the Brooklyn Bridge in April this year with an auction result of USD 36,540.00 (€ 33,097.83).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Woman Seated Beside A Window von August Mosca im Februar 2013 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 1.750,00 (€ 1.338,02) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von August Mosca erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Under the Brooklyn Bridge im April diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 36.540,00 (€ 33.097,83).
