Auction result misses estimated price range
In May 2016 a collector was able to acquire the work View Of The Gardens Of Borda, Cuernavaca, Mexico by August Löhr for USD 6,875.00 (€ 6,174.23). This price was achieved in the auction Latin America: Modern Art | Latin America: Contemporary Art at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by August Löhr achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work El Valle De México in May 2013 with an auction result of USD 161,000.00 (€ 123,960.58).
