Sold at the upper estimate price
In May 2019 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction 20th Century & Contemporary Art (Afternoon Session), which included this untitled work by Atsushi Suwa. The auction ended at the price of HKD 400,000.00 (€ 45,779.89), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of HKD 200,000.00 – 400,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Atsushi Suwa - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Sleepers, which sold at auction in May 2014 for HKD 1,240,000.00 (€ 117,272.73).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Im Mai 2019 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art (Afternoon Session) durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Atsushi Suwa zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von HKD 400.000,00 (€ 45.779,89) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 200.000,00 – 400.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Atsushi Suwa mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Sleepers beobachtet, die im Mai 2014 für HKD 1.240.000,00 (€ 117.272,73) versteigert wurde.
