This artwork by Asit Kumar Haldar achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in March 2020. In the Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art auction, the work Untitled (Prabhavatigupta Ruling The Vakataka Kingdom) sold for USD 9,375.00 (€ 8,500.32) - well above the upper estimate of USD 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Asit Kumar Haldar achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Procession in September 2006 with an auction result of USD 114,000.00 (€ 89,855.76).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 88 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Asit Kumar Haldar erzielte im März 2020 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art wurde die Arbeit Untitled (Prabhavatigupta Ruling The Vakataka Kingdom) für USD 9.375,00 (€ 8.500,32) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 5.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Asit Kumar Haldar erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Procession im September 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 114.000,00 (€ 89.855,76).
