This artwork by Asit Kumar Haldar achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in March 2021. In the Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art auction, the work Untitled (Buddha) sold for USD 16,380.00 (€ 13,948.74) - well above the upper estimate of USD 7,000.00. Admittedly, works by Asit Kumar Haldar have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Procession in September 2006 with an auction result of USD 114,000.00 (€ 89,855.76).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Asit Kumar Haldar erzielte im März 2021 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art wurde die Arbeit Untitled (Buddha) für USD 16.380,00 (€ 13.948,74) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 7.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Asit Kumar Haldar auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Procession im September 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 114.000,00 (€ 89.855,76).
