Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In May 2006 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Asian Contemporary Art, which included the work This is not a Thumb Print; Falling Figure by Ashim Purkayastha. Here, the upper estimate of HKD 55,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for HKD 60,000.00 (€ 6,026.65). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ashim Purkayastha achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work He Is Not My Enemy in September 2008 with an auction result of USD 134,500.00 (€ 95,518.78).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Mai 2006 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Asian Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit This is not a Thumb Print; Falling Figure von Ashim Purkayastha zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von HKD 55.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für HKD 60.000,00 (€ 6.026,65) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ashim Purkayastha erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit He Is Not My Enemy im September 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 134.500,00 (€ 95.518,78).
