Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A Hindu girl seated cross-legged spinning watched by a parrot by Arthur William Devis was auctioned at Christies in London in September 2003. The price achieved of GBP 10,157.50 (€ 10,231.37) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Arthur William Devis achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of the children of Benjamin Goldsmid, with a pony and a dog in a landscape in May last year with an auction result of GBP 201,600.00 (€ 237,163.21).
Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait of the children of Benjamin Goldsmid, with a pony and a dog in a landscape im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 201.600,00 (€ 237.163,21).
