Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In August 2002 Christies in London held the auction BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL PICTURES, which included the work Figures before windmills aside a Dutch waterway by Arthur Vidal Diehl. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 705.00 (€ 1,112.64), 18% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Arthur Vidal Diehl have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled (Cosmic Salvation) in January this year with an auction result of USD 8,925.00 (€ 8,219.75).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im August 2002 führte Christies in London die Auktion BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL PICTURES durch, in der auch die Arbeit Figures before windmills aside a Dutch waterway von Arthur Vidal Diehl zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 705,00 (€ 1.112,64) und damit 18% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Arthur Vidal Diehl auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled (Cosmic Salvation) im Januar diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 8.925,00 (€ 8.219,75).
