It achieved a price of AUD 132,000.00 (€ 77,605.41), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 39%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Arthur Streeton - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Australian Melba'S Country, which sold at auction in November 2009 for AUD 312,000.00 (€ 190,250.50).

Die Arbeit Australian Mernda Hill von Arthur Streeton wurde im August 2009 in der Auktion Important Australian Art bei Sothebys in Melbourne versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von AUD 132.000,00 (€ 77.605,41) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 39%. Für andere Arbeiten von Arthur Streeton mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Australian Melba'S Country beobachtet, die im November 2009 für AUD 312.000,00 (€ 190.250,50) versteigert wurde.
