Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Bush Tangle, Georgian Bay by Arthur Lismer was auctioned at Sothebys in Toronto in November 2011, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of CAD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for CAD 24,000.00 (€ 17,490.23). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Arthur Lismer achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Bon Echo Rock in June 2010 with an auction result of CAD 778,750.00 (€ 597,352.13).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Bush Tangle, Georgian Bay von Arthur Lismer im November 2011 bei Sothebys in Toronto versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von CAD 25.000,00 – 35.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für CAD 24.000,00 (€ 17.490,23) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Arthur Lismer erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Bon Echo Rock im Juni 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von CAD 778.750,00 (€ 597.352,13).
