Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2014 Sothebys in New York held the auction 19th Century European Art, which included the work British Baby'S Bath Time by Arthur John Elsley. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 106,250.00 (€ 77,895.89) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Arthur John Elsley achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Golden Hours in October 2000 with an auction result of USD 831,000.00 (€ 979,259.96).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2014 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion 19th Century European Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit British Baby'S Bath Time von Arthur John Elsley zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 100.000,00 – 150.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 106.250,00 (€ 77.895,89) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Arthur John Elsley erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Golden Hours im Oktober 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 831.000,00 (€ 979.259,96).
