Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait of Mrs Charles Romer-Williams, wearing a jade pendant by Ambrose McEvoy was auctioned at Christies in London in July 2016. The price achieved of GBP 5,250.00 (€ 6,238.14) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ambrose McEvoy - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Portrait of Dorothy Duveen, Three-Quarter Length, Seated On A Red Chair, which sold at auction in June 2007 for GBP 13,200.00 (€ 19,588.14).

Die Arbeit Portrait of Mrs Charles Romer-Williams, wearing a jade pendant von Ambrose McEvoy kam im Juli 2016 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 5.250,00 (€ 6.238,14) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Ambrose McEvoy mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Portrait of Dorothy Duveen, Three-Quarter Length, Seated On A Red Chair beobachtet, die im Juni 2007 für GBP 13.200,00 (€ 19.588,14) versteigert wurde.
