Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Engraving by Ambrose McEvoy was sold in the 19th Century and British Impressionist Art auction at Bonhams in London in October 2020. The price achieved of GBP 8,812.50 (€ 9,785.53) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 7,000.00 – 10,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ambrose McEvoy - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Portrait of Dorothy Duveen, Three-Quarter Length, Seated On A Red Chair, which sold at auction in June 2007 for GBP 13,200.00 (€ 19,588.14).

Die Arbeit The Engraving von Ambrose McEvoy wurde im Oktober 2020 in der Auktion 19th Century and British Impressionist Art bei Bonhams in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 8.812,50 (€ 9.785,53) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 7.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Ambrose McEvoy mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Portrait of Dorothy Duveen, Three-Quarter Length, Seated On A Red Chair beobachtet, die im Juni 2007 für GBP 13.200,00 (€ 19.588,14) versteigert wurde.
