This artwork by Art Sinsabaugh achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in December 2011. In the Photographs Including Crossing America: Photographs from The Consolidated Freightways Collection, Part II auction, the work Utah Landscape, #s 8-9, 1980 sold for USD 8,125.00 (€ 6,263.01) - well above the upper estimate of USD 3,500.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Art Sinsabaugh; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Untitled (Midwest landscape) sold at auction in July 2020 with the realized price of USD 9,375.00 (€ 7,962.46).
