In September 2009 Sothebys in Paris held the auction Photographs, Furniture, and Works of Art from a Parisian Flat, Avenue Montaigne, which included the work Sans Titre by Art Kane. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 1,250.00 39% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Art Kane achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Who With Flag, 1968, printed later in February 2021 with an auction result of GBP 17,750.00 (€ 20,471.29).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 39 % übertroffen
Im September 2009 führte Sothebys in Paris die Auktion Photographs, Furniture, and Works of Art from a Parisian Flat, Avenue Montaigne durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sans Titre von Art Kane zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 1.250,00 und damit 39% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Art Kane erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Who With Flag, 1968, printed later im Februar 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 17.750,00 (€ 20.471,29).
