Sold at the upper estimate price
In February 2015 Christies in New York held the auction Interiors, which included the work Max Ernst, 1942 by Arnold Newman. The auction ended at the price of USD 1,500.00 (€ 1,339.64), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of USD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Arnold Newman achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Igor Stravinsky, New York City. in December 2021 with an auction result of EUR 16,250.00.
