Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Isamu Noguchi, NYC by Arnold Newman was auctioned at Bonhams in New York in August last year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 1,500.00 – 2,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 701.25 (€ 696.72). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Arnold Newman achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Igor Stravinsky, New York City. in December 2021 with an auction result of EUR 16,250.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Isamu Noguchi, NYC von Arnold Newman im August letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.500,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 701,25 (€ 696,72) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Arnold Newman erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Igor Stravinsky, New York City. im Dezember 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 16.250,00.
