Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work The Vordense beek in Spring by Arnold Marc Gorter was auctioned at Christies in Amsterdam in September 2008, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 1,500.00 – 2,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 875.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Arnold Marc Gorter achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Summer; Winter in April 2001 with an auction result of NLG 70,500.00 (€ 32,358.18).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit The Vordense beek in Spring von Arnold Marc Gorter im September 2008 bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 1.500,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 875,00 den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Arnold Marc Gorter erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Summer; Winter im April 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von NLG 70.500,00 (€ 32.358,18).
