Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A river landscape with a fisher woman giving a coin to a gypsy by Arent Arentsz was auctioned at Christies in Amsterdam in November 2016. The price achieved of EUR 10,000.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Arent Arentsz achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A river landscape with two fishermen pulling in their nets, with bathers beyond in December 2000 with an auction result of GBP 179,750.00 (€ 286,340.14).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 10.000,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Arent Arentsz erzielen.
