Despite a disappointment, a good price for Archie Rand
When the work Monte Elena by Archie Rand was auctioned at Christies in New York in July 2012, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 1,375.00 (€ 1,116.52). Despite this disappointing result, Monte Elena is the most expensive artwork by Archie Rand that we have observed at auction so far.
Trotz Enttäuschung ein guter Preis für Archie Rand
Als die Arbeit Monte Elena von Archie Rand im Juli 2012 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 1.375,00 (€ 1.116,52) den Besitzer. Trotz dieses enttäuschenden Ergebnisses ist Monte Elena das teuerste Kunstwerk von Archie Rand, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
