Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
When the work Tempio di Serapide di Pozzuoli (Illustrated); Strada Nova di Posilipo; Il Foro A Pompeii; Strada Nova di Capodimonte; Tempio di Iside A Pompeii; And Strada de Sepoleria A Pompeii by Antonio Senape was auctioned at Christies in London in July 2006, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - GBP 700.00 but the actual price achieved was more than three times as high at GBP 2,160.00 (€ 3,161.99). Admittedly, works by Antonio Senape have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work An album in marbled boards of 63 drawings of Italy, Greece, Malta and Turkey 25.2 x 38 cm. (9 15/16 x 14 15/16 in.) and smaller, with ten panoramas of 26 x 52.5 cm (10 1/4 x 20 5/8 in.) and two loose mounted drawings, sheets 3 and 4 of a panorama of in July last year with an auction result of GBP 19,125.00 (€ 22,838

An album in marbled boards of 63 drawings of Italy, Greece, Malta and Turkey 25.2 x 38 cm. (9 15/16 x 14 15/16 in.) and smaller, with ten panoramas of 26 x 52.5 cm (10 1/4 x 20 5/8 in.) and two loose mounted drawings, sheets 3 and 4 of a panorama of im Juli letzten J
