This work of art by Antonio Maria Vassallo could be acquired at Christies in October 2021 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Master Paintings and Sculpture auction, the work Medea using her Magic, a scene from Ovid's Metamorphoses changed hands for USD 7,500.00 (€ 6,492.38) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Antonio Maria Vassallo - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Forest Floor Still Life With A Dog, A Cockerel, Horse Chestnuts And A Melon; A Forest Floor Still Life With Figs, Pears, Melons, Apricots And Cucumbers, which sold at auction in July 2012 for GBP 20,000.00 (€ 25,474.62).
