In May 2001 Christies in Rome held the auction DIPINTI E DISEGNI ANTICHI, which included the work Il sacrificio di Isacco by Antonio Balestra. The »bidding war« ended at ITL 75,950,000.00 (€ 71,862.80), 27% above the upper estimate. Other works by Antonio Balestra have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of USD 126,000.00 (€ 116,043.47) in January this year for the work Hercules and Omphale.

Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von ITL 75.950.000,00 (€ 71.862,80) und damit 27% über dem oberen Schätzpreis.
