Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Danish a Turkish Harbour By Moonlight by Anton Melbye was auctioned at Sothebys in London in November 2013. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 8,125.00 (€ 9,777.35) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Anton Melbye have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work “Det franske Skruelinieskib Napoleon paa Rheden af Beikos i Bosperus” in March this year with an auction result of DKK 300,000.00 (€ 40,259.38).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Danish a Turkish Harbour By Moonlight von Anton Melbye kam im November 2013 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 8.125,00 (€ 9.777,35) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Anton Melbye auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit “Det franske Skruelinieskib Napoleon paa Rheden af Beikos i Bosperus” im März diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von DKK 300.000,00 (€ 40.259,38).
