Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2020 Sothebys in New York held the auction European Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture, which included the work Sheep On The Dunes by Anton Mauve. It changed hands for a price of USD 7,500.00 (€ 6,846.19) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Admittedly, works by Anton Mauve have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A tranquil pasture in October 2000 with an auction result of NLG 128,722.00 (€ 61,782.31).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2020 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion European Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sheep On The Dunes von Anton Mauve zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 7.500,00 (€ 6.846,19) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Anton Mauve auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A tranquil pasture im Oktober 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von NLG 128.722,00 (€ 61.782,31).
