Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Homeward bound by Anton Mauve was sold in the Old Masters & 19th Century Art - (including Dutch Impressionism) auction at Christies in Amsterdam in May 2016. The price achieved of EUR 3,000.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 2,500.00 – 3,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Anton Mauve achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A tranquil pasture in October 2000 with an auction result of NLG 128,722.00 (€ 61,782.31).

Die Arbeit Homeward bound von Anton Mauve wurde im Mai 2016 in der Auktion Old Masters & 19th Century Art - (including Dutch Impressionism) bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 3.000,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 2.500,00 – 3.500,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Anton Mauve erzielen.
