Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Holy Family with a Deacon, Saints Anthony of Padua, Cecilia, Francis of Paola, Apollonia, and Anthony Abbott, with Two Musical Angels and Three Seraphs by Anton Kern was sold in the Master Paintings auction at Sothebys in New York in May last year. The »bidding war« ended at USD 10,710.00 (€ 9,980.43), 19% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Anton Kern have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Bacchus and Ariadne in July 2000 with an auction result of GBP 37,600.00 (€ 60,798.70).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Holy Family with a Deacon, Saints Anthony of Padua, Cecilia, Francis of Paola, Apollonia, and Anthony Abbott, with Two Musical Angels and Three Seraphs von Anton Kern wurde im Mai letzten Jahres in der Auktion Master Paintings bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 10.710,00 (€ 9.980,43) und damit 19% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Anton Kern auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Bacchus and Ariadne im Juli 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 37.600,00 (€ 60.798,70).
