Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Danish Fra Hønefoss (From Hønefoss) by Anton Edvard Kjeldrup was auctioned at Sothebys in London in June 2009, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 2,500.00 (€ 2,933.67). Admittedly, works by Anton Edvard Kjeldrup have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Die Kreidefelsen von Møn. in November 2019 with an auction result of EUR 12,500.00.
