Auction result misses estimated price range
In January 2005 a collector was able to acquire the work Shipping in Dordrecht harbour by Anton Dircks for EUR 1,140.00. This price was achieved in the auction PICTURES, WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS at Christies in Amsterdam and was even below the estimate range of EUR 1,500.00 – 2,000.00 set by the auction house. Other works by Anton Dircks have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in February 2008 by the work Sailing-vessels and gondolas, Venice at EUR 2,250.00.
