Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait of Dr. Jean-Louis Baudelocque, half-length, seated at a table with an open book by Antoine Vestier was sold in the Master Paintings and Drawings auction at Sothebys in New York in October 2021. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 21,420.00 (€ 18,542.24) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Antoine Vestier have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Autoportrait De L'Artiste in March 2016 with an auction result of EUR 119,600.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Portrait of Dr. Jean-Louis Baudelocque, half-length, seated at a table with an open book von Antoine Vestier wurde im Oktober 2021 in der Auktion Master Paintings and Drawings bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 21.420,00 (€ 18.542,24) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Antoine Vestier auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Autoportrait De L'Artiste im März 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 119.600,00.
