Auction result misses estimated price range
In January 2014 a collector was able to acquire the work The Coronation Of King Henri III At Reims by Antoine Caron for USD 25,000.00 (€ 18,518.52). This price was achieved in the auction Old Master & Early British Drawings & Watercolors at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Antoine Caron achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work An Allegory of the Triumph of Summer in May 2003 with an auction result of USD 903,500.00 (€ 767,890.53).

Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Old Master & Early British Drawings & Watercolors bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Antoine Caron erzielen.
