In July 2021 Bonhams in London held the auction British and European Art, which included the work Paris in the rain by Antoine Blanchard. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 2,805.00 (€ 3,289.44), 40% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Antoine Blanchard have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Place de la Madelaine; and Une marché aux fleurs in June 2003 with an auction result of GBP 22,325.00 (€ 32,082.24).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 40 % übertroffen
Im Juli 2021 führte Bonhams in London die Auktion British and European Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Paris in the rain von Antoine Blanchard zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 2.805,00 (€ 3.289,44) und damit 40% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Antoine Blanchard auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Place de la Madelaine; and Une marché aux fleurs im Juni 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 22.325,00 (€ 32.082,24).
