In February 2004 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction PICTURES, WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS, which included the work A couple in a cafe - a sketch by Anthonie Pieter Schotel. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 4,541.00 51% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Anthonie Pieter Schotel have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Rush hour on the Place de L'Opéra, Paris in February 2008 with an auction result of EUR 18,250.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 51 % übertroffen
Im Februar 2004 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion PICTURES, WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS durch, in der auch die Arbeit A couple in a cafe - a sketch von Anthonie Pieter Schotel zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 4.541,00 und damit 51% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Anthonie Pieter Schotel auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Rush hour on the Place de L'Opéra, Paris im Februar 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 18.250,00.
