Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2018 Christies in New York held the auction An American Journey: The Diann G. and Thomas A. Mann Collection of Photographic Masterworks, which included the work Moonrise, Hernandez, New Mexico, 1941 by Ansel Adams. The price achieved of USD 50,000.00 (€ 44,122.84) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ansel Adams achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Grand Tetons and the Snake River, Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming in December 2020 with an auction result of USD 988,000.00 (€ 807,849.55).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2018 führte Christies in New York die Auktion An American Journey: The Diann G. and Thomas A. Mann Collection of Photographic Masterworks durch, in der auch die Arbeit Moonrise, Hernandez, New Mexico, 1941 von Ansel Adams zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 50.000,00 (€ 44.122,84) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ansel Adams erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Grand Tetons and the Snake River, Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming im Dezember 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 988.000,00 (€ 807.849,55).
