The work 'Monolith, Half Dome' by Ansel Adams was sold in the Photographs auction at Sothebys in New York in October 2007. The »bidding war« ended at USD 12,500.00 (€ 8,639.76), 39% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ansel Adams achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Grand Tetons and the Snake River, Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming in December 2020 with an auction result of USD 988,000.00 (€ 807,849.55).

Die Arbeit 'Monolith, Half Dome' von Ansel Adams wurde im Oktober 2007 in der Auktion Photographs bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 12.500,00 (€ 8.639,76) und damit 39% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ansel Adams erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Grand Tetons and the Snake River, Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming im Dezember 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 988.000,00 (€ 807.849,55).
